Just returned from the jnr long track champs, got to agree with you Marshy. What a set up. Long track, short track, dirt track and jnr speedway track all in the one set up. Speaking to the locals they can race pretty much every weekend and sometimes multiple times in one week! Thats a bit more then the 5 or 6 meets we get to do in SA, per year. My lad qualifed 4th for the 7/u9 65cc final after his heats but did some soil sampling in the final while in 3rd with 1 lap to go. Oh well. Great to see a couple of other SA kids do well, aswell.

Did anyone get any pics of Renmark on Sat night ? What a great day, good racing and heaps fun, congrats to all involved in organising as was really well done. I know we all had a blast, hopefully get back there next year....maybe with a few small changes to the track around the top corner be even better ....(sorry Marshy for that pass in the last......definitely a bit dark in that top corner I missed my braking marker....i still owe u a couple though !!)

OWe me you kidding. Reckon i owe you a few and i reckon one on douggy too for a few rounds back. These block passes you guys are into are Ok but at least keep ya lines before you take us allout. Anyway i digress ;D Spoke to matt bainger on the night, after wards and also Watto, they agree and can see the issues and agree it can be easily fixed to make for better racing, the layout they thought had been changed from the practice day, but that was the Go kart guys that prepped it. Issue i found was it was very much a one line racing to some degree which meant the racing itself was close but no real action unless someone slipped up rather than other race places moving forward/passing. track alignment needs to be looked at and also one more light to the bottom corner even if they just flipped one round fromt he pits as there was a dark hole there. I was also surprised the local didnt know about it as a few came up to the pits asking what was going on. I think there is heaps of options at that venue for a good event , just needs tuning in and maybe a bit more activity. If im not under the pump next year i might put my hand up and see if i can get involved and see if we can drive it harder. also given if we sort out the angles of the track ( more so the way it was dragged and aligned ) it would be really easy to make a long track and increase the racing lines also i reckon we could get a bit more action by inviting some speedway outfits up there as we can run period outfits on the reverse clockwise as the startline is universal. increaseing the "show" and also bringing in more nominations money for the event ( cutting costs down etc) also promoted locally and a $5 per car load i reckon you can get that atmosphere right up there as its so close to Mildura - the home of solo speedway ! Had a lot of thoughts about it on the way home. but yeah heaps of potential to get it right. Only other concern was the overexhuberance of the volunteers to enforce there interpretations on how to run a race. I saw no flashes on Sat night so i doubt there is any photos from the night. I know there is video. but ill ask about day time photos. We also have the green light from MSa, spoke to them yesterday to confirm it and we are allowed to stake out a spot at Tailem bend and make our own track etc as another venue. Potentially getign a few more interstates over and aslso building a proper track for us with some decent length and shape.
